Frequently asked questions

When does the program start and how long does it last?

The Academy runs on a rolling enrolment basis, meaning you can sign-up anytime and access the content. The content is divided into 6 modules and we advise taking no more than one module per week, so you have time to absorb and reflect on the information.

Are there live sessions I need to attend?

As part of the course, we run monthly Live Labs. These 90 minute sessions are facilitated by WorkforClimate coaches and are an opportunity to connect with fellow course participants to reflect on progress you’re making towards your goals and receive support from peers in your journey. Live Labs are optional but we strongly encourage you to attend at least one throughout the program.

Can I do the training at my own pace?

Yes, the Academy is designed as a self-paced program so you can take as much time as you need to complete all 6 modules. We recommend that you dedicate roughly 2 hours a week, but you can definitely progress faster if you have the capacity to absorb and complete the assignments in a shorter space of time.

Can I take the course if I don’t work for a company?

Yes, you can take the course, however please note that you will benefit most from the program if you are in a position to influence an organisation on their climate agenda.

Do you offer grants?

We encourage you to ask your employer to fund this course. We offer a self-funded discount for individuals who cannot access funding from their organisation, as well as discounts for small businesses and B-Corps. You will see all discounts on the registration page. We are also able to offer need-based discounts and grants; you can email us at academy@workforclimate.org

I’m a sustainability professional. Should I take this course?

We are confident that the course will still be relevant to you if you work in a sustainability role / are a sustainability expert. While you may be familiar with concepts covered in the technical curriculum, the leadership content will help you elevate your capacity to build momentum.

I’m not located in Australia. Can I take this course?

Yes, you can take the course and most of the content will still be relevant, although a few elements will be more relevant to the Australian context. However, please note that the Live Labs may not be scheduled at a time that is convenient or compatible with your timezone.
